There’s no doubt about CM Punk’s wrestling prowess. The Second City Saint has an enviable resume and is considered one of the best pro wrestlers to ever lace up a pair of boots. However, he is also a highly divisive and controversial figure. This has bugged his career throughout, be it during his time in the WWE or afterward in AEW.
Naturally, this has left Punk with a substantial number of haters, including several industry insiders. And not just Punk, those who support him also seem to be getting the hate. WWE legend has newfound respect for AEW owner after getting rid of CM Punk
If you’ve been keeping track of CM Punk’s news for some time now, you would know what Eric Bischoff has to say about the former WWE Champion. The former Senior Vice President of World Championship Wrestling (WCW) isn’t a fan of Punk and has been vocal about it in the past.
He is also one of Khan’s biggest critics. Bischoff trashed him for getting Punk back after the AEW All Out media scrum in 2022, which led to a backstage brawl and the suspension of several talents.
But even Tony Khan seemed to have reached his limits as AEW took to X to announce the firing of Punk from the promotion. This came after a week’s investigation, following the backstage brawl at AEW All In in London, in August.

Just heard the news. In my opinion, @TonyKhan made the right call. A tough one, but the right one. #Respect
