Matt Hardy said, “Bray Windham has always had a very strange relationship with Vince, very strange, like, I almost felt like Vince looked at him like a son in some ways. When he would do things that he liked, he would love him and he would really give him everything that he could possibly give him.”

He added, “He would bend over backwards to try and accommodate him. But then when he did something he didn’t like, he hated, like he was going to lock him away for good.”

Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt were a tag for a while during 2017-2018. Hardy has witnessed how Wyatt and Vince McMahon used to have conversions.

WWE wanted Jeff Hardy’s Willow character in the company

It is no secret that Vince McMahon is protective of the WWE assets. He does not like it when former WWE superstars using any part of their previous company gimmicks in other promotions. Matt Hardy also talked about how there were plans about ‘Broken’ Matt Hardy and ‘Willow The Wisp’ Jeff Hardy to join ‘The Fiend’.

“They said, ‘what if we did something now where Bray is doing something as a Fiend and people are trying to stop him and then all of the sudden there’s an appearance of a very hardcore Matt Hardy that shows up and then like this Willow the Wisp that or hardcore Jeff Hardy shows up,” said Matt Hardy.

Moreover, he opined, “Then they like squash these guys out and run them off or whatever and save the Fiend, but they are very serious characters.”

It is very unlikely for WWE to show interest in other promotions’ gimmicks. However, there are some characters the Chairman of WWE knows that will make significant money. And that is why he has given a green signal for them on WWE TV.
