AEW World Champion Samoa Joe has had quite an eventful 2023. Winning the AEW championship gold for the first time by defeating MJF, the ‘Samoan Suplex Machine’ would be looking to continue his dominance well into 2024.

However, being in power surely comes with enemies, and in this case, contenders. AEW has already teased possible title defenses against Wardlow and Swerve Strickland. But there seems to be another wild card getting into the mix.

The recent edition of AEW Collision was wild, to say the least. And among all the adrenaline-pumping action, a ‘cold-hearted handsome devil’ decided to steal some spotlight by calling out Samoa Joe. FTW champion Hook shoot his shot at the AEW World Championship in his recent promo, letting ‘King Joe’ know that he has him in his crosshairs now.

He said, “Here’s the deal…my win percentage is second to none in this company. I think many would agree it’s time for HOOK to get after another championship. Got my crosshairs set on you. Samoa Joe, I’m coming for you, and your world title.”

Hook surely has a high win percentage and the potential to be a dark horse in this race to be the champion. But there are other contenders in the mix as well, competing for the chance to glory. Wardlow has already set his sights on being the AEW champion, and Swerve Strickland, too, recently warned Joe that he aims to come for the title.
