Women Of Wrestling is an all-women wrestling league that is returning to television with a multi-year deal with ViacomCBS. The new episodes will start coming in at the beginning of Fall 2022.

AJ Mendez is best known for her time with WWE

Prior to WOW, Mendez, AJ Lee, was working with WWE. She became a three-time Divas Champion during her time with the company, and her last reign was in 2014.

For a while, she juggled between her married life with CM Punk and working with WWE, since Punk and WWE were at war at the time. Fans predicted that Lee would leave the company eventually.

Moreover, WWE sent Punk’s release papers the day AJ Mendez and Punk got married. This became a strain in her working relationship with WWE. While she tried to make the best of the situation, eventually she sided with Punk and did not work with WWE any further.

Of course, after Lee left the company, nobody knew if this was permanent or just something she had to do because of the situation then. Now that it has lasted for years, it’s a given she’s not coming back to WWE.

Keeping aside WOW, another potential promotion she could have relaunched her career with was AEW. When CM Punk debuted at AEW, many believed even AJ Lee would soon join him. In fact, the way Punk was a great addition to the men’s roster, Lee would have been a great addition to the women’s roster.
