Did Bryan Danielson's AEW title win at All In mark the perfect end to his career?

After winning the men’s Owen Hart Cup, Bryan Danielson earned a shot at Swerve Strickland’s All Elite Wrestling World Championship. However, since his contract was about to expire and he had not fulfilled the promise, he made to the fans to win the title, as well as having promised his family that he would retire soon to spend more time with them, Danielson decided to bet his career on wrestling.

This contest took place at AEW All In 2024, where ‘The American Dragon’ managed to win the title. The fight showcased a lot of intensity from Swerve Strickland who focused the punishment on Bryan Danielson’s neck until he bled from the forehead.

The champion’s dominance continued until ‘Hangman’ Adam Page intervened and this caused Danielson to attack with three Busaiko Knees and finally catch Strickland in the LeBell Lock. The move gave him victory via submission.

After the match, the American Dragon celebrated with his family in the middle of the ring. But what does it mean for Danielson’s career now?

Bryan Danielson reveals his future plans

Before the match, the American Dragon made it clear that his neck is in no shape to continue as a full-time wrestler for long now. In fact, he is all set to go for surgery to fix all the damage that has been causing him a lot of pain for a while now. So will he announce his retirement in the next edition of Dynamite? Well, the answer to the question has been provided by Danielson himself in the post-event media scrum. He said, “I honestly haven’t thought about my future at all past tonight. So I don’t know what’s gonna happen. I’ll be there in Champaign, Illinois on Wednesday, and between now and then, we’ll figure it out, and I’m sure I’ll have an announcement then.”

Well, it looks like Danielson might announce his retirement in the next edition of Dynamite. Probably allowing AEW to host a gauntlet match to decide the next title holder. With this victory, the American Dragon wins his first title as a member of the AEW roster. His last belt before this had been the SmackDown Tag Team Championship, which he won alongside Erick Rowan in 2019.
