The 7-time World Champion shared he did not mind being off the main event spot. He knew his match with KO was a marquee match storyline-wise, while the Lesnar-Goldberg match was a marquee match from the money point. What bothered him though was his position on the card.

“The difference was we went from the main event to being put on second. Now, that’s an insult, because the second match is just another match,” said Jericho. “Either you’re on last, or you’re on first, and maybe the semi-main event. But that’s it. Those are your big money spots for WrestleMania.”

“To go on second, after this whole great story, which was penciled in at some point for the main event, that’s what hit me. And that’s when I was like, ‘okay great, time to go,'” he concluded.

‘Le Champion’ has been the spearhead of the AEW roster and has been a pillar for the company’s success. Jericho has been in AEW for two years now, and it seems highly unlikely he will return to WWE in an in-ring capacity in the future.
