WWE Hall of Famer Booker T spoke from a fan’s perspective and stated, “I’m just saying that because Punk, you know his style. Punk’s style was always able to go out and adapt to working with a lot of these guys, a lot of flips you know, do a lot of crazy moves, crazy bumps, stuff off the top rope. Punk was always a guy that was in the conversation.”

Previously on the podcast, Booker T spoke about new guys like MJF, Orange Cassidy, and Sammy Guevara in AEW. He thinks Punk can relate to them as “……coming from the independent world, Punk was a guy to bridge from the independent scene to the big time. A lot of these AEW guys right now are trying to make that bridge, trying to get over that bridge…(to become) major headliners, superstars. But I think a guy like CM Punk would fit in with a company like AEW a whole lot better than a guy like Brock Lesnar.”

Despite Punk’s immense popularity inside and outside the ring, Gilmour believes, “Punk’s been out of it now for six years…I mean almost seven. I don’t know if he’s got the drawing power for the salary he’s probably command.  Brock, I know.. you know  there’d be interest in Punk, don’t get me wrong but Brock, from a business standpoint is a better investment, I think CM Punk would be an attractive idea though.”

However, at the end of the debate, Booker T and Gilmour both agreed it would all come down to the cash that is being offered and the cash that will be made.

Be it Punk or Lesnar, WWE will definitely suffer a major blow if any one of the “Paul Heyman guys” turns up at the Daily’s Place.
