Tony Khan’s promotion has been in ever-lasting strife with the Stamford-based company since its arrival into the pro wrestling world. The rivalry touched new heights given the head-to-head rating battle between AEW Dynamite and NXT on Wednesday nights in 2019. It led the black and yellow brand to shift their show to Tuesdays.

We have often seen a lot of WWE faithful taking a massive dig at AEW for a bunch of reasons and vice versa. For not providing talents the places they deserved or stockpiling the big superstars just for the sake of it, Khan has often been on critique’s gunpoint. That said, WWE legend Hulk Hogan, didn’t follow in the footsteps of the majority. Rather, The Hulkster seems pretty impressed at AEW’s recent developments.

Hogan was a household name back in the 1980s era, headlining eight WrestleManias before jumping ship to WCW in 1994. The 70-year-old had a significant run in WCW too, before finding his way back home. Amid back-to-back surgeries in his body, Hogan had to bid goodbye to the WWE ring in 2012.

Years after, the retired wrestler showed his increased interest in Khan’s AEW. Days ago, during an interview with MMA Hour, Hogan addressed how AEW is doing a great job in the current scenario. Now, he backs it up with a major plus point that he noticed about the Florida-based promotion.

Speaking with Forbes, Mr. America revealed the reason behind his acknowledgment of AEW. Contrary to popular belief, the Hulkster thinks AEW doesn’t confine their talents in any way, rather they keep the door open for considering options, which is a major factor in promoting competition.

‘They’re not going away, they’re not going anywhere and it should be interesting to see how this pans out. But it’s great to have competition because now the talent has choices and they’re not locked into a one-dimensional type of lifestyle. They can make choices and go back and forth, and there’s still Japanese companies too. So AEW’s on track, bro. They’re doing great.’, Hogan explained.

However, recently there has been a wide discussion about the legend being back in the ring with a WWE retirement match. But it doesn’t make sense anymore as the Hall of Famer himself dismissed the prospect completely.

Hulk Hogan eliminated a potential in-ring return rumor

Hogan revealed his wish to have a WWE retirement match days ago, and that was enough to stir the hopes of millions of fans to have him back with the promotion once again. Also, his recent inclination toward AEW allowed fans to think even about a debut in the promotion. After all, expectation obeys no logic.

But despite the popular trend of retired superstar getting their feet back in the ring, in the case of Hogan, it seems far-fetched. Fans are well aware of the severe physical strain Hogan had to bear throughout his entire career before signing off. It broke him apart from within and probably won’t permit keeping his body on the line again in the future.

Hogan referred to the brutal reality behind the bright entertainment stories of WWE to rule out his potential return. ”But no, my body is just too beat up to get beat up in that ring. I mean, I know everybody thinks it looks like fun and games, but once you’re in there, what happens between bell-to-bell, I’ve never gone in that ring and it comes back out without being hurt.”, the Hulkster stated.

From his statements, it’s crystal clear that the 6-time world champion isn’t ready to take wear and tear on his body further. Hence, a return is only an elusive case as of now.

But the legend will hopefully continue to be close to wrestling, giving such valuable insights into various happenings in the wrestling world on a regular basis.
