CM Punk spent almost a decade in WWE before taking a hiatus and venturing into other wrestling promotions. His issues with the creative team and storylines led to his fallout from the sports entertainment giant in 2014. It has been almost nine years since he said his goodbyes to the promotion.

However, recently a piece of news broke out on Twitter that people saw him backstage on this week’s edition of Monday Night RAW. This news led the WWE Universe to go berserk over social media. Pro wrestling fans claim that this news will make Tony Khan unhappy and upset.

PWInsider was the first to break out this news into the social media world. In the latest report, they confirmed that The Best In The World “was backstage for a bit at tonight’s Monday Night Raw taping.” This week’s RAW episode took place in the Allstate Center in Chicago, Illinois.

Chicago is Punk’s hometown, so his backstage appearance kind of makes sense. It is also the same arena where he squared off against John Cena and won the WWE Title at the Money in the Bank PPV 2011. Coming back to the present, he was recently in talks of returning to AEW since his ‘Brawl Out’ incident with The Elite.

As this news circulates around social media, fans predict that this move from the Second-City Saint may have severed his relationship with AEW and its president. Pro wrestling fans are wondering what might be his future in the Jacksonville-based promotion after pulling out this stunt.

Fans predict AEW General Manager will be angry with the 44-year-old star.

Well, we don’t know how Tony Khan will react to Punk’s move. But we do know that The WWE Universe is looking forward to having him back in the Stamford-based promotion. Some fans believe he might eventually return.

There is a chance that he might return. As PWInsider reported, he had a brief interaction with the Chief Content Officer of WWE Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque. In addition, he met with other WWE talents as well. But the names of those superstars are still unknown.

PWInsider also shared the information that, since The Best In The World is under contract with another pro wrestling company, The Chairman of WWE, Vince McMahon asked him to leave the arena when he found out that he was in the arena.
