AEW Revolution is promising to be a splendid PPV. While some fans are excited to see ‘The Icon’ Sting return to the ring, others are still wondering who the mystery Hall of Fame-Worthy signing could be. Many names are doing rounds since Paul Wight made the announcement, including the name of former WWE Champion, Batista.

Batista shuts down rumors of his AEW debut

Big Show aka Paul Wight made his AEW debut on this week’s Crossroads Edition of AEW Dynamite and made a big announcement. ‘The Giant’ revealed a huge Hall of Fame-Worthy Talent will join AEW at the Revolution PPV. This announcement led to a lot of speculation, and one name that popped right on top was Hollywood Actor and former WWE Superstar Batista.

Fans across the globe chipped in with their reasons Batista could be the mystery debutant. But now, all rumors and speculations can take a backseat.

Batista shut down all rumors when he replied to a tweet that speculated his debut at Revolution. His tweet suggested people should not forget that he has retired from wrestling for good.

We wonder why Batista’s name came in the conversation at all. The 52-year-old is enjoying a successful Hollywood career and has also retired from wrestling recently in 2019, right after WrestleMania 35. It makes little sense for his name to be rumored at all.

Who could the mystery man be?

The wrestling world is buzzing like crazy since Big Show announced the signing of Hall of Fame-Worthy Talent. We speculate it to be CM Punk, considering all the hype, but there are other names that have come up in the past 24 hours.

Alongside Batista and Punk, the other names are Mark Henry, Pat McAfee, and Christian! There are no details on Mark Henry’s current WWE contract. If it has expired, then he could be a strong frontrunner to be the mystery man. After all, he recently revealed he wants to get back in the ring for one more match.

NFL Star Pat McAfee is another name that is doing rounds. It is because Cody Rhodes had previously said McAfee has tried to get a job with AEW.

But McAfee, too, crushed all those rumors on the latest edition of The Pat McAfee Show. In fact, he said he’s thought of retiring in WWE more times than even contemplating going to AEW.

Christian is the least likely as he recently returned at the WWE Royal Rumble. Edge revealed ‘Captain Charisma’ is medically cleared to wrestle.

And if that is the case, then we don’t see a reason he’d want to wrestle in AEW. Who knows if WWE is not using Christian right now because they want him to be the challenger when Edge wins the Universal Championship?

So, there you have it. Batista is definitely not the one. As far as others go, it’s a 50-50 chance as anything can happen in pro wrestling. All we can do is wait for AEW Revolution to find out.
