According to an eyewitness, Punk was the primary aggressor. He seemingly delivered a cheap shot to Jack Perry and attempted to choke him out. In addition, there are accounts of him “lunging” towards Tony Khan before everyone intervened and safeguarded Khan.

Reports also stated that an outraged Punk then said, “I quit,” before he even went out to wrestle his match. However, Samoa Joe managed to convince Punk to wrestle. After a hard-fought match, he retained his “real” AEW World Championship and started waving at the fans in attendance.

While some fans think he was simply saying goodbye to Wembley, others are positive that Punk knew he was getting fired after the match. By the looks of it, The Straight Edge Star’s face in the video conveyed that he was done with AEW.
