The entire wrestling world has been set aflame regarding the ongoing CM Punk’s AEW departure for the past few days. Almost every bigwig in the AEW realm already dished their opinions regarding the hassle. Chris Jericho also couldn’t keep it close to his chest anymore. He finally put forth his take on this while giving some bombshell closure of Punk’s mental space at the time of leaving.

Punk’s physical altercation with Jack Perry became a universal topic of debate among AEW insiders. Fans and veterans reiterated two main opposing viewpoints. One size empathized with Punk’s current footing, and the opposing side got behind Khan’s swift, bold decision.

It seems like Jericho followed in the footsteps of the first group members, as the whole incident turned regretful. But then, he knows well that it can’t be overturned as Khan locked his words with decisive action.

Jericho, 52, referred to a backstage conversation with Punk to describe Punk’s apparent gloomy mood during his last match.

While speaking on his Talk Is Jericho podcast, Jericho noted, ”I don’t want to dwell on this or talk about it, but I should address it. CM Punk is no longer with AEW. Wembley was his last match, which what a way to go out if you’re going to go out. I did speak to him briefly. I was going to do a Frankensteiner off the top, and I know that he does that sometimes, so I was curious if he was going to do it. I went and talked to him for a bit, asked if he was going to do it. He wasn’t.”

Despite not wanting to linger on the subject, Jericho praised Punk for collaborating with him on the issue. However, it seems like Khan’s abrupt move has not only offended Punk’s AEW peers, but some WWE Heavyweights as well. A notable WWE personality lambasted the AEW boss for what he did to one of the standout talents of the promotion.

While making the official announcement of CM Punk’s permanent expulsion from the company, Khan gave an exaggerated justification. He stated that Punk’s aggressive unfiltered antics frightened the audiences and contenders present there. He in fact spilled that he himself had to worry about his life at one point.

However, WWE’s Jim Cornette seems to be the least convinced of this delineation.

Long termed it the highest form of ‘unadulterated bullsh*t‘ he had ever seen in his entire career and life as well. However, regardless of the appreciation and criticism coming across, the hard truth is CM Punk won’t be called an AEW wrestler anymore.

Now, it remains to be seen how he plans to move with his wrestling career next.
