“I Was Supposed To Win WWE IC Title” – Miro Makes Major Revelation

November 10, 2020 10:02 pm

Since he left WWE, Miro (fka Rusev) has been revealing major secrets about his WWE run. From his dissatisfaction with the company to backstage backlash, the ‘Bulgarian Brute’ is baring it all.

In the latest episode of the Talk Is Jericho podcast, Miro discussed some details about his canceled storyline with Dolph Ziggler and Summer Rae. The storyline was abruptly dropped after the world got to know Miro and CJ Perry aka Lana were a real-life couple.

“Literally, I have no idea. I’ve never had heat with anybody,” Miro said. “I remember the one time I had was about the wedding, but it was not our fault either. They said we leaked the pictures, which is not true at all.”

“So we were in the angle, [it was] me and Summer against Lana and Dolph, and the one summer, we did get engaged, but she sent that picture to the office and to some of the girls. It’s her happiest day of her life. She’s getting engaged.”

WWE ‘punished’ Miro and Lana over leaked photos

Miro does not blame Lana as it is normal for any girl to share her wedding pictures with her friends. Even Natalya and Naomi of WWE attended their wedding as Lana’s bridemaids.

However, WWE and Vince McMahon had different ideas. The dropped storyline would have resulted in Rusev winning the Intercontinental Championship.

“Somebody leaks that and they blame her. They blame me. I do jobs for six months. Our story gets cancelled that night we were in Chicago. I remember it because I was supposed to win the IC title. I was supposed to get married with Summer.”

As soon as news broke out, the storyline was promptly dropped.

“They nixed it that night, and when I talked to Vince, he’s like, ‘well, TMZ, it’s like CNN. It’s world news. Everybody knows it’s true… Everybody will go against it.’ So CJ did nothing for a long time, and I was doing jobs forever.”

Now Rusev is Miro in the rival promotion AEW. He is the ‘Best Man’ of Kip Sabian and AEW. He is happier in AEW but that was not the case always. Read this article to know more –
