Lana has really grown into her own as an in-ring performer this year, particularly after the release of her husband Miro from WWE. The ‘Ravishing Russian’ kicked off her full-fledged in-ring career when she aligned herself with Natalya. But, that alliance didn’t last long.

She then moved on to going through the table for two months straight. Yes, two months! Fans and few others in the wrestling world thought WWE was punishing her for Miro (aka Rusev) moving to AEW and taking shots at WWE.

The New York Post asked Lana her thoughts on the speculation of her being punished by WWE earlier this week. While it wasn’t easy for her, Lana appreciated the opportunity she got.

She said, “It’s insane because I think people are finally seeing what I’m made of. For so long being in stories where I am an enhancement to the main the characters, main character, no problem I love doing that. Not everyone can be Tom Hanks and Leonardo DiCaprio. That’s just the reality.”

Lana said that she approaches everything in WWE the same way she does in the world of acting. She knows not everyone can be the lead, but it is a hard pill to swallow for many people. She appreciates what has come her way and hopes to show the world what she’s truly made of. She said, “For me to be having storyline where I’m competing in the ring, fighting that is something I’m very, very grateful for.”

What’s next for the Ravishing Russian?

After being at the receiving end of going through the table for two months straight, it finally seemed like the Lana-Nia Jax/Shayna Baszler storyline was coming to fruition. Lana ending up as the Sole Survivor for Team Raw looked like the beginning of it.

Post Survivor Series, she aligned herself with Raw Women’s Champion Asuka and was set to face Jax and Baszler in a tag team match at WWE TLC this Sunday.

Unfortunately, Lana suffered a storyline injury at the hands of Nia Jax on Raw. This leaves Asuka to find a new partner for herself, maybe Mandy Rose? We’ll find out this Sunday. But, we wouldn’t be shocked either if Lana has some role to play in the match.
