A few days ago, Tony Khan was in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. The president of AEW had called out WWE’s booking after his own booking skills were questioned by fans. However, it looks like things have backfired on him. After fans rallied on social media to teach him a lesson, a pro wrestling legend, and WWE Hall of Famer, decided to bring Khan’s booking skills to the light once again after Samoa Joe defeated HOOK on the latest episode of AEW Dynamite.

Tony Khan is under the radar once again

Talking on the Busted Open Radio, Dave LaGreca was joined by WWE Hall of Famer and TNA star Bully Ray. While the two dissected the latest episode of AEW Dyanmite, Ray highlighted some inconsistencies that he had noticed on the main event of the show. He stated, “I was not a fan of how ‘easily’ HOOK was able to get up after the match, get out of the ring on his own, walk up the ramp, walk back down the ramp.” While Khan’s booking skills were not being called out directly by the former WWE star, Ray highlighted how unreal the moment looked.

Ray stated, “On one hand, we have Joe hitting HOOK with everything but the kitchen sink. The kid got choked out, and I don’t know many guys who get choked out, and then after they get choked out, they’re just totally fine and walking up the ramp and down the ramp, no assistance.”

Samoa Joe was recently crowned as the AEW World Champion after defeating former champion MJF on the AEW Worlds End pay-per-view-event. HOOK, who is the son of the pro wrestling legend Peter Senerchia a.k.a Taz was chosen to be Joe’s next contender by Khan.

While Ray talked about how the events after the match could have some level of realism, he also mentioned that how the match has ruined the potential of any future rematch between the two.

Is Samoa Joe vs HOOK 2.0 possible?

Further talking about a potential rematch, Ray stated that the chances are quite slim. He stated that since Joe and HOOK gave their everything and still HOOK wasn’t able to defeat him, there is nothing much left. Ray believes that fans might have probably seen everything that could happen in that match. However, he believes that there is a way Khan might be able to redeem the rivalry.

Referencing the movie Rocky IV, Ray stated that if Joe says that no matter what he does, HOOK keeps coming back then the rematch might be worth a watch. However, he believes that Joe should do that in his signature ‘heel’ style to add more weight to the situation. Do you agree with Bully Ray’s words?

One take at a time

For me pro wrestling has two things that I like the most, storytelling and fighting. Let?s just say movies are failing to keep me entertained in those departments. I grew up watching WWF and not WWE and any hardcore fan will agree that the two are not the same, but I love both iterations.
