A show that brought back many memories since AEW has spent a long time in this arena, but this time, their plans were was something truly unexpected. The show ended with a meetup in the ring between Tony Khan and Jack Perry. Perry asked to meet Tony Khan in an attempt to regain his place in AEW. Perry explained that his No. 1 mission is to change the world with AEW and he wants to continue to do so.

Khan hugged Perry, reinstating him in the company but surprise! Jack Perry turned on Tony Khan to hit him with the microphone! In the latest edition of Fightful’s full show review of Dynamite, Alex Pawlowski and Jon Alba talked about the latest edition of Dynamite. And it was during this conversation that Pawlowski couldn’t help but appreciate the segment. While he mentioned that he did not expect Tony Khan to take a Meltzer Driver, he also gave credit where it’s due to the YoungBucks for aptly renaming the move to TK Driver.

Pawlowski said, “I mean I didn’t think they were going to go this far. I thought maybe like he takes a clothesline bump or something like a simple short arm lariat. And everybody runs in and gets Jack Perry out of there and whatever. But I didn’t think they were going to go full. Now TK driver they since changed the name I forgot about that so now it’s a perfect name for it. Because it’s the thing they do to Tony Khan um but I didn’t think they were gonna go there.”

As the YoungBucks share a close bond with the wrestling journalist, they named the move after Herbert Meltzer when he passed away in 2017. But they renamed it again just a few days back on AEW Rampage. The duo faced the team of Jonny Lyons & Cappuccino Jones. And while hitting their finisher, the YoungBucks shouted out loud “Tony Khan Driver”, thus revealing the new name of this move. But why the sudden attack on Tony Khan? Well, we finally have an answer.

The motive behind the assault

After the show aired, AEW cameras had the chance to stop The Elite backstage to get their feedback on the events. Jack Perry first addressed his eight-month suspension from All In 2023 by Tony Khan. Perry said Tony Khan took eight months of his career from him and got what he deserved. “You took eight months of my career, and you just got what was coming to you,”

Matthew Jackson added that what they did in the ring was simply to put AEW back where it belongs. Jackson said, “When we came back, we said we’re here to put AEW back on track. It was time to change the world. What you just saw out there, unfortunately for Tony, the best boss I ever worked for, by the way, that was just us trying to get this place back to what it was supposed to be, and that was our final play. The Elite has arrived.” Nicholas Jackson chimed in by saying that today is the best version of the Elite since its inception.
