Since announcing their contracts with AEW were expiring this March, Matt and Jeff Hardy made headlines. WWE fans want the brothers to return to the WWE, while they claim they did not renew their AEW contracts. With Mania just a few weeks away, this WWE Rival episode seems to have come at the right time. Fueling nostalgic fondness for the WrestleMania 17 TLC match between the Hardy Boyz, the Dudley Boyz, and Edge and Christian, fans believe this is a subtle hint by the WWE. The promo saw Bubba Ray saying, “We were no Rock, we were no Hunter, we were no Austin, but we were going to give them a run for their money.”

To this date, the TLC match is cited as the best example of the match type. All three teams laid it all out with their bodies on the line during the match. The most iconic moment came when Edge speared Jeff Hardy off a ladder. This episode being promoted while the Hardy Boyz are rumored to make a return possibly doesn’t seem to be a coincidence for the WWE Universe. Fans have theorized how WWE could pull off and make them part of the Tag Team match for the titles. Only time will tell if they will return at Mania XL or after. What did you think of the promo?
