AEW’s latest televised show will be remembered for being one of the most controversial of the last decade. The company showed footage of the fight between CM Punk and Jack Perry at the AEW All-In and other innuendos thrown by their wrestlers.

The most striking came when Will Ospreay made an appearance and was interviewed by Renee Paquette. The British wrestler felt singled out by Triple H‘s words on Pat McAfee’s pre-WrestleMania show. Where HHH revealed that he was glad that some free agents did not sign with the company to work in a more placid place. This was later mocked by Ospreay in his segment that made headlines. But now it seems like Rhea Ripley has joined Triple H’s side against Ospreay.

A few days ago, during an interview on The Pat McAfee Show, Triple H commented on the decision of some free agents not to sign with WWE. And the reason is the demanding schedule and stressful routine involved in being a superstar in the company. He commented that if young talent is not willing to face these challenges, then perhaps they do not deserve to be in WWE.

This statement was quickly interpreted as a criticism of Will Ospreay. Who had chosen to join AEW instead of WWE for these reasons? On the latest episode of AEW Dynamite, Will Ospreay addressed these comments and responded directly to Triple H.

Ospreay accused him of having reached his current position due to his relationship with Stephanie McMahon, Vince McMahon’s daughter. However, it seems like Rhea Ripley is on Triple H’s side now as she is in full support of the trolling of Ospreay. How do we know? Well, that’s because she recently liked a post trolling AEW.

Well, Ospreay did get the attention he wanted. Fans and fellow wrestlers alike are surely talking about it. Whether it be in support of him or against him. But was the promo actually his idea? Or was he just the messenger for the creative team? That is one question that might be looming in the minds of the fans.

Ospreay reveals the behind-the-scenes

The segment by Ospreay surely made headlines. And according to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, Will Ospreay was all-in for the promo and criticized Triple H on television. In fact, he actively collaborated with the creative team to develop the segment. Suggesting that he received no external pressure to do so.

He said, “Regarding the Will Ospreay promo, we’re told he was fine with cutting that promo. And there were no issues in that regard. And he actually came in to work with the creative team on the promo. The shots that were taken at him in the media last weekend puzzled wrestlers across multiple companies. With one WWE talent saying that it was clear that he was attempting to be respectful of the process and WWE after opting to go with AEW for the sake of his family.”

Although Triple H didn’t directly mention Will Ospreay in his comments, it seems that his words raised eyebrows in some people. However, there are those who are of the opinion that the reference to Triple H’s private life, mentioning Stephanie McMahon, was unnecessary. And that Ospreay may have gone too far in his response. What do you think? Did Ospreay cross the line? Let us know in the comments.
