The Adverse After Effects of Adam Cole Leaving WWE NXT for AEW

The world of professional wrestling changed when Bryan Danielson and Adam Cole jumped ship from WWE to AEW. This, along with the debut of CM Punk after seven long years, has made All Elite Wrestling a must-watch program.

Every week more and more people are tuning in to AEW to see what new surprises and storylines are being made. This has a direct impact on WWE’s ratings and fan following. Every wrestling fan knows and remembers the time of the Monday Night Wars between WWF and WCW. No other wrestling promotion has even come close to WWE since WCW.

But everything changed when All Elite Wrestling signed ‘The Best in the World’. WWE went into panic mode after that. The final nail in the coffin was Adam Cole and Bryan Danielson’s surprise debut at AEW: All Out. Bryan wasn’t seen for a long time in WWE and Adam Cole was the biggest attraction in NXT.

There was a time when NXT was deemed to be better than the main roster, now it is nowhere near that level. Cole leaving NXT for AEW has created a major hole in the Black & Gold brand’s roster. There have been growing concerns in the WWE office while AEW is minding its own business. AEW President Tony Khan himself stated, their competition was watching their show in Gorilla. Apparently, they had a monitor with AEW on.

A lot of NXT fans watched the show because of their favorite wrestler, Adam Cole. It isn’t his absence that is worrying NXT; it is his debut in their prime rival company. All Elite Wrestling is the hottest pro wrestling show in the world at the moment.

WWE cannot go on with only their name value anymore. SmackDown is the only show that is still receiving good ratings among all WWE shows. NXT quickly needs to up their game if they want to compete with the big boys.
