Ex-WWE Superstar Sasha Banks received a magnificent pop from the crowd when she made her AEW debut. The spectators went ballistic as soon as Mercedes Mone’s music played and she walked into the arena and entered the ring. The response on the internet also showed the adulation pro wrestling fans share for her.

While it is needless to say that Sasha Banks dominated the AEW Dynamite Big Business event, another superstar also turned several heads that night. Will Ospreay gave a fiery speech to the AEW arena and made everyone appreciate his heart-to-heart mic work. However, Ospreay is now seeking to diminish the light of other AEW stars with a picture. This was not taken kindly by the AEW fans, who lashed out at him for his antics.

Exciting news just shook up the AEW universe at the AEW Big Business event! Sasha Banks made her debut under the name of Mercedes Mone at the TD Garden yesterday. Tony Khan drew 801,000 views, which was a 3% increase from previous events. But Banks isn’t the only one to debut this year. Will Ospreay took to X to tweet about this year’s AEW signings.

Ospreay posted a picture of the old Real Madrid team on X. In the picture, famous soccer stars such as Luís Figo, Zinedine Zidane, David Beckham, and so on were featured. He captioned the picture, “🔥 | #AEWBigBusiness,” comparing them to the AEW Roster. The reference includes Kazuchika Okada, Mercedes Mone, Mariah May and Will Ospreay himself.

The Real Madrid players had garnered the nickname of Galacticos due to their marquee stature. This comparison didn’t fare well among the AEW faithful. A loud minority did share some positive words but the majority of them were not happy about it. Many fans thought it was a hint related at Mone’s return. Hence, Will Ospreay’s comparison of the AEW roster to the Real Madrid players sparked controversy online following Sasha Banks’ return.

Fans lash out at Ospreay after AEW roster comparison with the Galacticos

“Galactico” in Spanish means ‘galactic’ and is used in football to describe superstar players with exceptional abilities. Hence, when Ospreay tweeted, the image fans were quick to voice out their views on this.

One fan expressed how Madrid failed to compete for glory despite surrounding themselves with marquee talent.

Some people even pointed out how bad a comparison this was and might affect the AEW publicity.

A football fan also went ahead to compare the new signings to Barcelona instead of Real Madrid as they aspired for the highest position but consistently fail to do so.
