The rumors of CM Punk returning to AEW have been making rounds around social media for quite some time now. After witnessing the issues of the former AEW star with the promotion, the chances of those turning true seemed really low.

However, a recent report from a top source in the pro wrestling industry mentioned that it might take place soon. FightFul Select recently released a report that mentions the details of what they learned about the Punk’s potential AEW return.

A FightFul Select report says that the ‘Best In The World’ has been pushing for a comeback to Tony Khan’s promotion. June 21 edition of Dynamite, in Chicago, Illinois, can witness the return of the former WWE superstar.

Chicago is Punk’s hometown, so making a return there seems plausible. The report says, “We were told shortly before the announcement of Chicago at Wintrust Arena that the June 21 episode of Dynamite would be interesting, and a date to look out for. ” 

However, there is no set date for it. His return can take place any day around that time period. Also, the company is making plans for the 44-year-old’s return. This news report has prompted the fans to react on social media with fans divided over Punk’s comeback to AEW.

Fightful also found out that the two-time AEW World Champion is trying to mend his relationship with Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks. But, the two parties have not been in contact with each other yet. In addition, Fightful has learned that The Elite didn’t show a desire to reconcile.

The fight between Punk and The Elite was the actual reason that got the former suspended from the company. Also, the report states that the former WWE Champion is also looking forward to making amends to his relationship with Chris Jericho, putting aside the their Instagram controversy.

“We’re told that there was also a meeting planned between CM Punk and Chris Jericho, who have had numerous issues in the past, to see if the two working together is a possibility,” Fightful mentioned in the report.
