AEW boss Tony Khan is infamous around the globe for stockpiling talents from various promotions. However, the reverse is a rare case. It’s next to impossible to see Khan let his assets jump ship to another promotion in any given situation. Adding value to the above stance, Khan finally breathed a sigh of relief, sealing the deal with his top superstars, Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, and Hangman Adam Page, collectively known as The Elite.

The AEW supremo was operating with utter insecurity since The Elite’s contracts were nearing their end with his company. That said, he has his reasons too. Kenny Omega’s potential WWE debut was heavy on the discussion and Khan needed to put that buzz to rest as soon as he could.

Being the foremost pillar of AEW since its inception, The Elite holds an irreplaceable status in the Jacksonville-based promotion. No matter how much evolution took place in the company since 2019, the loyalty of the four main components comprising Kenny Omega, Hangman Page, Nick Jackson, and Matt Jackson remained unchanged. It’s the big paycheck, adequate time off, and credibility as a performer that made them stick with Khan for longer.

The 200th episode of Dynamite brought the news to light. It has been announced that The Elite will remain All Elite for some more years, ripping the hope of WWE fans all across. WWE had a huge interest in signing The Elite, especially Kenny Omega. Even a WrestleMania appearance was there on the card for The Cleaner. But that ship immediately passed with the news of the AEW contract extension, exactly the way Khan wanted.

Weighing on Tony Khan’s main motive to get them on board quickly, wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer noted, “WWE could not legally make an offer because they’re still under contract. They couldn’t make that offer for many months. But WWE did have an interest in all of them, especially Omega. They had a great interest in Omega in particular, but this is how it went down so they’re gonna be around and be on the London show and all the shows going forward.”

However, not only The Elite, AEW also made it official with another notable stable.

AEW penned a contract extension with another legendary stable

On the heels of the news of The Elite’s official reemergence into the AEW scene, another report suggested that Dark Order consisting of Alex Reynolds, Evil Uno, and John Silver also penned a three-year contract renewal with AEW. Evil Uno was the first to break the news while retweeting AEW’s announcement of signing The Elite.

Uno wrote in the caption, ”Dark Order also re-signed. Where’s our press release?”. Initially, the netizens took it lightly, but then the Fightful Select cemented the news in a follow-up report. They noted that given the previous tensions between The Elite and Dark Order, the news sounds legit.

Another fixture of AEW since its early days, The Dark Order will probably reunite with their old promotion with the remaining trio, Uno, Alex Reynolds, and John Silver.

We need to see how the newly added-up talents will move forward with the promotion in terms of viewership in days to come.
