Since its inception, WWE has had many competitors whom they were able to chew up to move ahead. But one rival in particular, AEW has been at odds with the Stamford-based promotion.  All Elite Wrestling formed its foundations in 2019 by entrepreneur Shahid Khan and his son Tony Khan. While Tony Khan is the CEO of the promotion, his father is the lead investor. And from 2019, they have tried their best to compete with WWE.

Now with a sudden change in its weekly program schedule, AEW is trying its best to catch up with WWE as Tony Khan has mustered a couple of tricks up in his sleeves.

In the late hours of October 9, 2023, Tony Khan tweeted a news. He made it official that AEW Dynamite will be break-free for the first 30 minutes. This news came hours after WWE announced that this week’s episode of NXT won’t air commercials for the first 30 minutes. This has created tension between these two promotions. But he had to make this move as AEW Dynamite will be broadcast on a Tuesday this week.

AEW Dynamite, which usually airs on Wednesdays, will be aired on a Tuesday just for this week. TBS, the broadcasting partner of AEW, will be airing Major League Baseball playoffs at AEW’s slot on Wednesday. This led to the one-time-only change for this week’s edition of the AEW show. Dubbed “Title Tuesday” the confirmed stars are pretty big names. This is the first time that these two promotions will have their episodes being aired in the same time slot. This sudden move by Khan has shaken the pro wrestling community and this night has been dubbed “Tuesday Night War”.
