It seems strange to say, but despite being the world champion and one of the biggest faces of the company, Becky Lynch could leave the WWE soon. Last year, Fightful Select reported that Lynch’s contract expires in June 2024. Since then, there has been a lot of talk about her future and that of her husband, Seth Rollins. But unlike him, ‘The Man’ still seems not to have closed a new deal.

And according to a renowned pro wrestling insider, Lynch might decide to quit the WWE. Not just that, she might even join Sasha Banks in the ranks of All Elite Wrestling.

Becky Lynch’s contract situation is as complicated as it gets

In the latest edition of the Fightful Wrestling Podcast, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select confirmed that Lynch still has her previous contract and has not signed a new contract, despite being the women’s world champion. There are negotiations about a new contract. However, as things stand, Becky Lynch’s contract with WWE is set to expire in about two weeks. At the moment, Becky Lynch is expected to defend the Women’s World Title at WWE King and Queen of the Ring against Liv Morgan, just before her contract expires.

But it is still unknown what’s running through Lynch’s mind. Who might even take a hiatus or join All Elite Wrestling? “I think that Becky at this point is just, you know, gonna find either the right deal or make important life decisions. I don’t know her priorities. And what is she wants to do or accomplish? You look at it in a lot of ways. She could become the highest-paid woman in wrestling history. Maybe she wants to work Wembley; maybe she wants to break a title reign record in WWE.” 

He further added, “Maybe there are things that she hasn’t done there; maybe she wants to spend more time with Seth. Or maybe she wants to spend more time with her kid. We don’t know her priorities. Don’t know em. I think that it will come down to the wire. I mean, it’s already down to the wire.”

A couple of weeks ago, she managed to capture the WWE Women’s World Championship in a battle royal on Raw, thus adding one more World Championship to her credit. This truly proves that the WWE sees her as a top-level draw. So it seems unlikely that the WWE would want to let Lynch go. In fact, they might even agree to pay her more than the deal Mercedes Mone got in All Elite Wrestling. But till then, she will have to face Liv Morgan, who has set her sights on ‘The Man’s title.

With the celebration of Backlash in France, WWE continues to move forward with its programming, both weekly and for its upcoming PLEs. WWE King and Queen of the Ring will be the next PLE held by the company, which is set to take place next Saturday, May 25. One of the matches we will have will be for the WWE Women’s World Championship, where ‘The Man’ will put this championship on the line against Liv Morgan.

The latter has decided to add more fuel to the fire, as she sent a message through a story on her Instagram. She simply shared a picture of the two and wrote ‘LMRT’, which stands for Liv Morgan Revenge Tour. In recent weeks, we have seen how Liv Morgan is taking more and more prominence in the weekly programming of Raw. where a couple of weeks ago, she attacked Rhea Ripley, giving her an injury that made her vacate the WWE Women’s Championship, which was later won by ‘The Man’ in a Battle Royal on Raw.
