CM Punk and Jack Perry were suspended by AEW following their backstage altercation at All In in London. On Saturday, AEW put out a statement claiming that they are terminating all agreements with Punk. AEW CEO Tony Khan made it clear in that statement that he was responsible for Punk getting fired. As a result, he was booed by fans in Chicago right before the start of Collision on Saturday. One such star is EC3 who had a short stint with NXT and is now the NWA World’s Heavyweight Champion. He wants Punk to join NWA, one of the oldest pro wrestling promotions in the world. On his recent appearance on the podcast WrestleBinge he said, “To have him (CM Punk) come in would be a game changer, and I think our locker room has a more professional atmosphere sometimes.”

He further added, “So, I don’t think the shenanigans tomfooleries of the intertwining and dramatics would take place as much as people striving to be the best versions of themselves. And the best version of anybody is EC3 as the World’s Heavyweight Champion.”

But as Punk continues to get some support from the wrestling world, new details have emerged on what exactly happened backstage that night.

Just a few days ago, Punk got into another brawl backstage with Jack Perry right before his title match with Samoa Joe at ‘All In’. But news has now emerged that Punk also tried to attack CEO Tony Khan during that fight. Dave Meltzer while reporting for the Wrestling Observer Radio said that Punk lunged towards Khan after the altercation with Perry.
