AEW Full Gear had a stacked card and some great moments. From unexpected appearances and returning Superstars to new champions – AEW certainly delivered on expectations.

Among these high-octane matches was “The Elite Deletion Match,” where Sammy Guevara faced Matt Hardy at The Hardy Compound. This match had everything – hard-hitting action, a monster truck, a golf cart, even firecrackers for that matter!

Just as Matt Hardy was about to drop Sammy Guevara into the Lake of Incarnation, former WWE Superstar Gangrel showed up with another former WWE Superstar Hurricane Helms in captivity. Private Party made quick work of Gangrel.

Hurricane Helms also shared a light moment with Matt Hardy before being thrown into the Lake of Incarnation by Sammy Guevara. Shane Helms appeared as himself before finding the same fate as Hurricane Helms at the hands of The Spanish God. The segment met with humor, nostalgia, and excitement!

Hurricane Helms, Gangrel, Private Party, Santana & Ortiz continued brawling in the ring at The Hardy Compound until Hardy lead Guevara to ‘The Dome of Deletion’ in the final moments of the match before getting the pinfall victory. Even Señor Benjamin made an appearance!

While least expected, it was great to see Gangrel and Hurricane Helms getting back into the fold, especially making an appearance on AEW Programming.

Gangrel’s last big-time appearance was on the 15th Anniversary Show of Monday Night RAW in a 15-Man Battle Royal way back in December 2007! Hurricane Helms was last seen working for WWE as a producer but was furloughed, alongside several WWE Producers as part of WWE’s Talent Cuts post-WrestleMania.

Although the appearance may very well be a one-off, we cannot rule out the possibility of any of these legends making an appearance again. Tony Khan was asked about the future of Hurricane Helms and Gangrel in AEW. He said there are no plans as of now, but he is not against the idea of them coming back to do something. As fans, we’d definitely stand back as The Hurricane comes through!
