Recently, Bryan was asked who he would like to face from rival promotions like AEW, Ring of Honor, and WWE’s very own NXT. At 39-years-old, Bryan would love to play the seasoned veteran and take on youngsters.

He told Bleacher Report how he has always loved doing the angle of “the veteran versus the young up-and-comer.” Hence, he took some prominent names from the younger generation.

“When you look at the AEWs or whatever it is, somebody like Jungle Boy or MJF or Darby Allin,” he said. “Those guys are really interesting to me. When you look at NXT, he’s not young, but I’ve always wanted to wrestle Kushida. That guy’s great.”

Apart from Kushida, Bryan named Kyle O’Reilly and Finn Balor as his potential opponents. However, he also revealed the problem while choosing potential new opponents from promotions.

Daniel Bryan has a plethora of guys he wants to face in WWE

In the interview, Bryan revealed how he can’t really choose one opponent because “guys are so good now and I like wrestling so much, so when you start naming names, then other names come up.”

He also stated how there are lots of guys he still wants to face in WWE.

“I’ve never wrestled Matt Riddle one-on-one. I’ve never wrestled Ricochet one-on-one.”

He wrestled Johnny Gargano before WWE, but he wants to do it again.

“A Kushida match, a Kyle O’Reilly match, there are so many great guys,” he continued. “William Regal’s son, Bailey Matthews, just debuted on NXT UK. I’d love to do a match with him. William Regal has helped me so much in my career. I don’t know, when you start talking about guys I want to wrestle, I get really fired up, so it’s hard to limit it to just a few.”

One of the top in-ring workers of WWE, Daniel Bryan is known for making his opponents look good. Both newcomers and veterans have praised his capabilities, making him a favorite among everyone.
