The wrestling world saw Hulk Hogan rising quickly in WWE and was famous for his physique. But he was not always a person with a lean or muscular body, rather, he was a tall and chubby kid.

Even with his excess weight, the Hulkster played baseball in high school. Once, he recalled a time when his physique led people to protest to his presence in the baseball team.

In a resurfaced video on YouTube about Hulk Hogan & Family – Documentary Special, Hogan recalled his time playing baseball. Moreover, he was good at playing the game, which led to protests to remove him from the team.

Hogan said, ?I did excel in baseball as far as being able to throw the ball hard or hit pretty good but I was pretty slow as far as running.?

Hogan?s friend, ED Lesl, said, ?He used to hit the ball so far. He used to hit it over the trees, just out of sight. It was a big deal back then because everybody used to protest in the games and everything. They always said he?s too big, he shouldn?t be allowed to play with all the rest of the kids.?

Hogan has shared several claims back in the day about his baseball career. Sadly, a serious arm injury suffered in a high school game crushed his dreams of making a successful baseball career.

Hulk Hogan once said he would have had an MLB career

The Immortal One claimed that an arm injury ended his baseball career. However, Hogan claims he would have had an MLB career if that injury didn’t occur.

Speaking with The Mercury News, Hogan shared that there were scouts from Cincinnati Reds and New York Yankees. As per the WWE legend, he was very close to having a successful MLB career.

The 12-time world champion played baseball as a pitcher during his high school days. But it seems the injury that stopped his baseball career opened the doors for professional wrestling.

Hogan calls the baseball injury the best thing that happened to him

When one door closes, another door opens and it happened in the life of Hogan. After his baseball career wrapped up pretty quickly, he got a chance to enter the world of professional wrestling.

In an interview with MLB.com, he said, ?It was the best thing that ever happened to me, because I segued into wrestling,”

Hogan said of the injury, “Once my arm wasn’t what it was, I started chasing the wrestling dream around, and it finally happened. But baseball was the first love.”
