“So He’s Returning Saturday?”: Fans Believe Former WWE Champion Will Return at Royal Rumble Despite Suffering Life-Threatening Neck Injury

Pro wrestling can sometimes take an ugly turn. Such has been the case for many stars from WWE. Recently several stars such as Charlotte Flair and Seth Rollins have sustained injuries that have taken them off the grid. After being out of action for nearly two years, a former WWE Champion revealed when he thinks will be the right time to make his long-awaited return.

A post on X (formerly Twitter) shared an interview that Big E had with a reporter from TMZ Sports. When asked when fans could expect to see him back in action, he responded by saying that as for now, there is no proper timeline. He further added, “I just want to make a smart decision. I didn’t start wrestling to end up in a wheelchair, so I just want to make sure I’m just making the best decision for myself.”

New Day accidentally broke his neck back in March 2022 on an episode of SmackDown. The faction had a feud with Sheamus and Ridge Holland. Fans saw E being on the receiving end of an overhead belly-to-belly suplex from Holland. This caused a fracture in his C1 and C6 vertebrae.

While the star initially stated that he might not need surgery for his injury, he stated in June 2022 that it is unclear when he will be able to get back to action. Later in August 2023, E revealed that doctors had advised him not to wrestle again following the surgery.

While the 37-year-old star has made it clear that he is not going to return anytime soon, fans have a growing suspicion that he might be trying to delude fans into thinking that.

How fans have reacted to the news

As soon as the word started going around, fans started growing suspicious. Many of them have been speculating that the member of New Day might eventually return to the 2024 Royal Rumble. One fan even stated that this might be his attempt to throw fans “off the scent.”

As seen in the statement, E has reported that he does not have any timeline as of now. However, one fan has a timeline for him and it is 6 days.

One fan straight up said that what E meant is that he is returning on Saturday.

Another fan believes that E will surely be returning for the Royal Rumble.

One fan says that he thinks either the star will return for Royal Rumble or 2024 Money in the Bank.
