The Attitude Era saw some of the most iconic moments in WWE’s history. Celebrities from all walks of life were a regular feature of its programming. The boxing great Mike Tyson also graced the squared circle with his presence in the 90s. And he came up against arguably the Stamford-based promotion’s hottest commodity at that time “Stone Cold” Steve Austin.

It made up for the perfect TV, ‘The Baddest Man On The Planet’ coming against the notorious Texas Rattlesnake. The latter was just fresh from winning the 1998 Royal Rumble match when he went face-to-face with Tyson on the edition of RAW the following night. And apart from their iconic brawl, it was another incident that made Tyson furious.

Former WWE official Bruce Prichard opened on the same in the recent episode of the Something To Wrestle with Bruce Prichard podcast. He delved into the aftermath of the scuffle between the two icons and when he walked into Tyson’s dressing room. Prichard said, That was a scary scene cause Tyson had 10000 dollars in his coat pocket you can go back and watch this. In his breast pocket he had ten grand hundred dollar bills and it all went flying during that melee.”

“So his people they were all scrambling, picking up hundred dollar bills and counting out the money in the dressing room and Mike was a little upset at that point,” added Prichard.

Eagle-eyed fans would have noticed Tyson’s entourage picking up the bills which went flying from his pocket as soon as he laid hands on Austin. Nevertheless, ‘Iron Mike’ coming face-to-face with Austin garnered a lot of attention from all quarters. It even surpassed WWE’s expectations of how good the whole spot was.

Moreover, a surprised HBK confronted Tyson as he snubbed the D-Generation X t-shirt that he was wearing that night. But he was laid out by a trademark knockout punch by the legendary boxer.

It was great for the global audience to see two of the biggest names in boxing and WWE come face to face. However, as Prichard, remarked it became a nightmare for Mike Tyson’s entourage to collect the spilled bills from his pocket.
