The No Disqualification Match

The Vengeance Day would have been incomplete without a No DQ match. This particular match involved Dijak and recently turned face Joe Gacy. The two had some tensions when Dijak verbally insulted Booker T and Gacy stood for the Hall of Famer. The No DQ match was something that fans were excited about as they knew it would be a brutal one and they were not disappointed. Fans saw everything, from dustbins to nightsticks being used as weapons of destruction.

At one point, Gacy had set up a table with Legos scattered over it. The plan was to throw Dijak on the table to hurt him in the worst way possible. Gacy had all the tricks rolled up in his sleeves. After throwing him on the Lego table, he used duct tape to blindfold Dijak. While it was difficult for him to do anything, he tried his move Feast Your Eyes, and after some back and forth; he defeated Gacy.

Winner of No DQ Match: Dijak.

Gacy was hanging upside down on the ropes. However, what was more confusing was that he was still smiling after all that pain. Is this the end of their rivalry?

The Family vs Out The Mud

A mixed tag team match between The Family (Tony D’Angelo, Channing Lorenzo, and Adriana Rizzo) and Out The Mud ( Lucien Price and Bronco Nima) along with Jaida Parker has been in the making for days now. After two blockbuster fights, fans were eager to see the third attraction of the night. The two stables gave their everything. However, one huge dive by Rizzo from the top rope wiped out the entire Out The Mud, thus securing a win for The Family.

Winner of the Mixed Tag Team Match: The Family

After the match, fans were taken backstage where Trick Williams and Carmello Hayes shared an emotional moment. Hayes was seen tending to his wounds after their tag team match with Bron Breakker and Baron Corbin. While Williams was worried for his friend, Hayes insisted his friend give his all for the main event match against Ilja Draganov. Williams insisted Hayes be by his side during the main event fight.

After this, we were taken to another main attraction for the night, the NXT Women’s Championship fight between Lyra Valkyria and Roxanne Perez.

The unscripted Triple Threat for the NXT Women’s Championship

Roxxane Perez had fought her way for a chance to face off against the current NXT Women’s Champion Lyra Valkyria. The match started with the former champion going strong against the current champion. Fans could feel the anger rushing through Perez as she hits Valkyria with a Hurricanrana. Just when things started to get more heated between the two, Lola Vice ran in and cashed her breakout tournament contract, making the match a triple threat match.

Now Valkyria had to defend her title against two foes. While Lola Vice made a last-minute entry to the match, she could not make it till the end. She was taken out by Perez’s two-for-one Russian Leg Sweep DDT combo. And in another surprising twist, Tatum Paxley took Perez out, helping Valkyria defend her title.

Winner: And still the WWE NXT Women’s Champion, Lyra Valkyria.

Next up was one of the most awaited moments for the night, a rematch between Dragon Lee and Oba Femi for the North American NXT title.

The Fight for the NXT North American Championship

The two best in the business locked horns once again after Dragon Lee lost his title Oba Femi on January 9, 2024. The two stars started strong by giving their everything in the fight. While many thought Lee’s athleticism would help him in the match, Femi proved everyone wrong by pinning Lee and retaining his title.

Winner: And still the WWE NXT North American Champion, Oba Femi.

It was time for the main event of the night. The fight for the WWE NXT Championship title.

Ilja Dragonov vs Trick Williams

The fight was weeks in the making. Both the stars came out strong, however, Williams was still tired from his tag team match against Bron Breakker and Baron Corbin. Despite all of that, he was trying to fight through the pain, as his best friend stood by his side. Despite all his efforts, he could not defeat Dragonov. However, the segment was not over yet.

An injured Williams was sitting in the ring. Hayes came into the ring to hug his friend from behind. At least that’s what it looked like. But instead of hugging, he attacked his beloved friend.

Following that, he tried to break his friend’s injured leg. Hayes then looks at the camera and winks at it as Williams is still in pain. He then kept on attacking Williams despite the referee trying to stop him. And thus, the curtain closes, leaving fans on a cliffhanger. What was your favorite moment from tonight’s Vengeance Day?

One take at a time

For me pro wrestling has two things that I like the most, storytelling and fighting. Let?s just say movies are failing to keep me entertained in those departments. I grew up watching WWF and not WWE and any hardcore fan will agree that the two are not the same, but I love both iterations.
