Last week, WWE Monday Night Raw secured its highest viewership in months with over 2 million viewers. It was the highest since the Raw after WrestleMania.

The Raw ratings for this week are in, and the news is not good for Vince McMahon. The overall viewership has fallen. Journalist Bryan Alvarez revealed the official viewership on Twitter.

This week’s Raw was an action-packed one. Keith Lee, Randy Orton, and Seth Rollins competed in three separate singles matches.

All three won their matches and faced off in the main event in a triple threat match. Randy Orton won that match to become the number one contender for Drew McIntyre’s WWE Championship.

The first-hour viewership was 2.104 million. It saw a major fall as second-hour viewership was just 1.882 million. The third hour went further down to 1.703 million despite a star-studded main event as Randy Orton defeated Keith Lee and Seth Rollins.

Monday Night Raw scored 0.63, 0.59, and 0.53 in respective hours in the key 18-49 demos. Raw scored an average 18-49 demo rating of 0.53.

The total viewership saw a drop of 6.5% compared to last week’s Raw after SummerSlam. It is surprising given the fact there were some really good segments and matches.

Fluctuations in WWE Raw ratings mounting problems for Vince McMahon

The ratings have been one of the major issues for the WWE. According to rumors, Vince McMahon is into a lot of planning and on almost every Raw, plans change last minute in order to put the best product forward.

Drew McIntyre has been amazingly impressive since winning the WWE Championship at WrestleMania against the ‘Beast’ Brock Lesnar.

This was the first Raw without Drew McIntyre, who suffered a kayfabe injury at the hands of Randy Orton last week. This could be one huge reason for the drop in ratings.

Things were hard during the initial days of the lockdown because of closed doors and shows happening in the Performance Center. However, in hindsight, one can say that it provided more breathing space for the company.

A few months back, WWE was the only live show telecasted on TV in its time slot. This Monday, there were two NBA play-offs that had a much higher overall viewership than WWE.

The 18-49 demographic was also higher with 1.19 to WWE’s 0.58. Vince McMahon definitely has a tall task at his hands as he tries to win over people in the face of tough competition from live sports.
