Since his debut in 2002, John Cena has spawned a long career. In the career that is still going on after two decades, he has many allies and enemies alike. But one old friend turned rival, had once cost him his career according to a WWE storyline when he was breaking out. During WWE Fastlane 2023, event, they happened to cross paths once again. But this time, things looked different.

John Cena meets an old enemy

At the backstage of Fastlane, John Cena happened to meet his old in-ring rival Carlito. The Caribbean Cool was there to support Latino World Order’s Rey Mysterio. John Cena was also present at the venue for his tag team match along with LA Knight against Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso. The two stars happened to cross paths backstage and decided to click a picture.

During the initial days of Cena, he went off against Carlito which Cena had lost. The rivalry between the two stars was gaining momentum. At the same time, The Leader of Cenation was also making a name for himself. He was set to star in a WWE Studios movie, The Marine. For this, he was supposed to be out of action to complete the shoot.

He has also said that he still regrets to this date that he could have done better in his debut movie, but he did not do it. Cena said that he wanted to be in front of sold crowds and all the bustling and glimmering life of a star. Instead, he got a quiet set. But he added that he didn’t know this quiet set would be the most important part of his career

The Marine starring John Cena was one of those movies which was made by WWE Studios. Although it was panned by critics due to various technical reasons, fans loved to see their beloved WWE star in action. It follows the story of a retired marine who sets out to find his missing wife. It is one of the few movies by the studious which had graced the big screen. Even though it did not sit right with critics, it helped the star to launch his Hollywood career along with other WWE stars.
