The spectators inside the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana, roared in unison as a 44-year-old Carlito returned to help Rey Mysterio. The Ruthless Aggression Era wrestler’s help was necessitated after the LWO leader ran short on partners for his three-man tag bout at Fastlane.

This time, Carlito partnered with the LWO leader to take on Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits. The WWE Hall of Famer had run short of partners after members of the LWO- Joaquin Wilde and Cruz Del Toro- were injured during the October 6 episode of SmackDown.

Mysterio had also faced humiliation as The All Mighty pinned him to pick up a win at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Missouri, on the October 6 episode of the blue brand. Within minutes of his arrival, the former WWE United States Champion managed to pin Montez Ford- one half of The Street Profits- to help Mysterio add another win to his name.

Meanwhile, not just Rey Mysterio and the LWO, the win also is significant for Carlito.

Well, Carlito’s return to the WWE after five months also coincided with his 19th anniversary in the Stamford-based promotion. He had debuted as a heel on the October 7, 2004 episode of SmackDown. So, having Carlito pin and win the bout, could be some pre-planning done by WWE’s creative genius Triple H and his team of writers.

The Former WWE Tag Team Champion reportedly resigned a deal with the company after his Backlash appearance. Fans would surely love to see this legend getting involved in more matches and also take on some of his past rivals, one of whom- John Cena– was also an attraction at the PLE.
