Dwayne Johnson And Henry Cavill Celebrating Christmas Like “Gentlemen” In Rare Photo 6 Years Before Getting Axed By James Gunn’s DCEU

Dwayne Johnson and Henry Cavill were ready to change the course of the DC Universe. After a cameo in Black Adam, the 39-year-old had worn his Superman suit once again. 

While promoting Black Adam, The Rock talked words of praise about the British actor. Moreover, it excited the WWE legend to see Cavill wear his cape again in the DC Universe.

However, this year was not the first time we saw together the top Hollywood stars. Johnson and Cavill are friends for a long time and they broke the internet then too.

Throwback to Henry Cavill and Dwayne Johnson celebrating Christmas

Black Adam was the dream project of The Rock for many years. Also, he aspired to work with Henry Cavill in a DC film while Superman was making appearances in several featured movies. 

Six years ago in 2016, Dwayne Johnson and Henry Cavill broke the internet. They celebrated Christmas and had drinks together while sharing the picture of the same. The British actor shared the photo in Facebook and wrote an impactful caption.

He wrote, “Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from Superman and Black Adam Dwayne The Rock Johnson. Today we drink like gentleman and come together as friends. We’re excited for what the future brings.. #DangerousGentleman #DCWorldsWillCollide #Superman”

It seems Cavill also was looking forward to working with the WWE legend in a Black Adam and Superman film. However, that would not be happening after the Man of Steel actor’s unfortunate departure from DC.

Furthermore, the fans also bashed The Rock for not speaking a word on Cavill’s sudden firing from DC as Superman. The new management of James Gunn and Peter Safran had new plans for the franchise and decided to recast several actors starting with the 39-year-old. 

Will The Rock return as Black Adam?

A few days ago, Johnson shared a photo on Twitter stating his future in DC. Not only Cavill, but even The Rock won’t return in DC. He is not fired, but they put any plans for the future to a halt.

The statement said, “James Gunn and I connected, and Black Adam will not be in their first chapter of storytelling.”

The Brahma Bull’s Seven Bucks Production were the producers for Black Adam and also for future DC films. Therefore, he mentioned being involved in the ‘DC multiverse’ and the new characters as a producer.
