Ronda Rousey is called the ‘The Rowdy One’ for a reason. And that reason is a fierce and bloody knockout, the former WWE Raw Women’s Champion can deliver anytime anywhere. But in her time with WWE, we saw many opponents put her down. While most of them were the regular superstars on WWE TV like Alexa Bliss or Nia Jax, there was one legend she went against, Mickie James.

And after her renaissance run in WWE, accompanying Alexa Bliss, the ‘Hardcore Country’ went to her roots, Impact Wrestling. Here she invigorated her career by winning the Knockouts Championship and having a feud with Deonna Purrazzo. Their match at 2021’s Slammiversary was a delight to many Mickie James fans and shocked almost the entire wrestling community.

During her feud with Tasha Steelz, James started a program with Chelsea Green, where the latter would follow the veteran in a ruse to lure the champion into a safe spot and win the title. But she would turn on James out of nowhere, which would lead to James losing the title. Finally, after many teases and tag team matches, we see the two square one-on-one without any distractions. And it was a banger match.

Mickie James and Chelsea Green pay homage to the legendary Stratus vs James feud

In a match that was years in the making, Chelsea Green and Mickie James put on a great display of athleticism on the recent episode of Impact Wrestling. The two had been brawling ever since Green backstabbed James after pretending to be in her corner. Adding to the flair of the match, both women paid homage to Mickie James’ previous rivalry.

At the beginning of the match, the two stared down and trash-talked each other. But as a manipulative tactic Green kissed James, and showing that she is a veteran, James kissed her back. This was a clear callback to the iconic feud Mickie James had with fellow WWE Legend Trish Stratus. Not only the kiss, but Chelsea performed one of the signature James heel moves on the former WWE Women Champion as well.

The match itself was a treat as Impact is quite clever in the business of giving fans a long-term storyline. And the thing about Impact Wrestling that makes it unique is the diverse women’s division.
