“An Instant Classic”: WWE Universe on Cloud Nine as Drew McIntyre Returns and Punches His Ticket to SummerSlam

WWE Money in the Bank is blowing the roof of the O2 arena tonight. The fans have already witnessed some crazy matches and there are more yet to come. Speaking of crazy, Gunther vs Matt Riddle made the London crowd go wild as both the superstars brought their best to the ring.

But the most interesting sight to behold took place after the match. Gunther’s former nemesis, Drew McIntyre, returned to TV after almost three months of hiatus and made his intentions about wanting a match against the IC Champ.

The last time WWE Universe saw McIntyre was at WrestleMania Goes Hollywood earlier this year in March. He faced Gunther and Sheamus in a triple-threat match for the Intercontinental Championship. Unfortunately, he was unsuccessful in winning the gold. It looks like he wants another shot at the Intercontinental Championship.

After Gunther beat Riddle via submission, McIntyre made an appearance, which received a loud pop from the crowd. He made his way to the ring and confronted ‘The Ring General’. Clearly, Gunther was very much irked to see McIntyre ruin his victory celebrations.

Later the fans saw McIntyre flattening the IC Champ with a Claymore. The fans were pretty excited to see McIntyre return to action after so long.

Fans are excited to see the two juggernauts clash at SummerSlam.

McIntyre’s Money in the Bank appearance was out of the blue, as not a single soul expected to see him at the premium live event, today. That is why the WWE Universe was baffled and excited to see him at the O2 arena.

WWE had removed McIntyre from the MITB advertisement

McIntyre is set to leave WWE in early 2024 after his contract with the company gets expired. Plus, earlier in the month of May, the Stamford-based promotion removed ‘The Scottish Psychopath’ from the Money in the Bank advertisement website page.

Therefore, everyone was thinking that it would be highly unlikely for him to make an appearance on WWE TV.
