Hulk Hogan is one of the most famous pro wrestling personalities. In the 1980s and the 1990s, Hogan had established a massive fanbase of his. He was immensely popular among the fans. And many people, including Colin Cowherd, believes Hulk Hogan took pro wrestling and WWE to new heights.

During an interview with Jim Ross on The Herd with Colin Cowherd, Colin Cowherd claimed NBA legends, Magic Johnson and Larry Bird, made NBA popular again in America. Colin Cowherd compared Bird and Johnson‘s impact on NBA to the impact or effect Hogan had on pro wrestling and WWE.

The famous media personality then asked his guest, Jim Ross, about Hogan. Ross said, “The proliferation of the WWE, then the WWF, going global, going national, was Hogan. Hogan was the lead mule that pulled the wagon to take McMahon further down the road.”

The WWE legend further added, “And then we get Austin [Stone Cold Steve Austin] and Rock [Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson] that takes the WWE, among other stars, from a private company to a publicly traded company as it is now.” 

Earlier in the interview, Jim Ross picked Stone Cold Steve Austin, Dwayne Johnson, Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair as his Mount Rushmore of pro wrestling.

Is WWE legend Hulk Hogan the greatest pro wrestler of all time?

Some people will consider Hulk Hogan the greatest pro wrestler of all time. But some fans might consider someone else the greatest pro wrestler of all time. But none can deny Hogan’s positive impact on pro wrestling. He is a WWE legend, and if not the greatest, then certainly one of the greatest pro wrestlers of all time.

Let’s look at some of Hulk Hogan’s career achievements in WWE and some other pro wrestling promotions. Not only did he make a name for himself in WWE, The Hulkster was also one of the key men responsible for WCW’s success.

Hulk Hogan won both the WWE Championship and the WCW Heavyweight Championship 6 times each. Not to forget, he also won the WWE Royal Rumble twice. Apart from WWE and WCW, he also appeared in other pro wrestling promotions, such as TNA (now known as Impact Wrestling).
