WWE Champion Drew McIntyre made a fiery statement following his bout with Andrade on RAW. The Champion called out SmackDown Superstar King Corbin, cementing their match-up next week.
Drew McIntyre gladly accepts the challenge
RAW had extended a brand-to-brand invitation to King Corbin. McIntyre revealed that SmackDown “didn’t just accept, but chose” McIntyre as the opponent. Always ready for the next challenge, McIntyre was excited and impressed with Corbin as he called him out.

“I’m excited mate, I’m proud of ya,” he said.
The Start of a new Feud?
McIntyre and Corbin have a history with each other. Both superstars were tag team partners at one point, and have mostly had a sour relationship. McIntyre went on to say “Every single person on planet earth hates this guy”, referring to King Corbin. He attacked Corbin’s character directly by saying that he knew from personal experience that Corbin was a bad person.
“I’ve spent a lot of time with him, I’ve been on teams with him, I’ve traveled the world with him. He’s a terrible, terrible human being.”

Corbin and McIntyre both came off of hard-fought bouts in the ‘Money In The Bank’ pay-per-view event. McIntyre defended his championship against Seth Rollins in a tiring fight. Corbin also had a notable night, throwing Rey Mysterio and Aleister Black over the roof to their deaths.
However, their fight, though interesting, would not very competitive. The bout may just be a placeholder feud for McIntyre until he makes any actual enemies before Backlash. This adds into McIntyre’s championship persona, which sees him wrestle whoever he wants, whenever he wants.

McIntyre is no stranger to in-ring call outs. The Superstar excited the world when he famously called out Tyson Fury for a ‘Battle of Britain’bout. These statements are nothing new for the WWE Champion and are sure to create an interesting fight, come next week.
As said by the man himself, “You don’t want to miss this match with me and Corbin. I’m gonna rip his damn head off!”.
