Roman Reigns and Cesaro collided for the Universal Championship in the main event of WrestleMania Backlash. This was Cesaro’s first opportunity at a World title in WWE. And the ‘Swiss Cyborg’ lived up to the hype and then some! The match was all levels of awesome to say the least!

Both men went back and forth with headlocks and takedowns. Cesaro wasted little time as he quickly went for pinfalls, three to be precise, in just the first three minutes! Roman Reigns did not expect this, and he went to the outside to compose himself.

Roman ‘Reigns’ Supreme over Cesaro

The ‘Swiss Cyborg’ was focused and went right after the Universal Champion as he got back in the ring. Before Cesaro could get more control in the match, Reigns turned the tide. The ‘Tribal Chief‘ threw Cesaro to the outside, causing him to land awkwardly on his right hand.

Despite hurting himself, Cesaro tried his best to even the odds. However, Reigns had seen the awkward landing, and he went right after it! Reigns concentrated on Cesaro’s arm as he threw him into the LED ring post. He then tormented him on the outside before getting the action back inside the ring.

The ‘King of Swing’ was ready for everything the ‘Tribal Chief’ threw at him. From Samoan Drops to suplexes and superman punches, Cesaro showed his toughness, kicking out of every single offensive move from Roman. This frustrated him even more, and he prepared for another superman punch.

Cesaro was ready and had seen it coming. He immediately reversed the move into a pop-up European uppercut of his own!

The ‘Swiss Superman’ quickly transitioned into the sharpshooter, and it seemed like this would mark the end of Roman’s dominant reign. However, the bad arm from Cesaro proved to be his biggest nemesis.

The former United States Champion favored his right arm. Hence, he couldn’t add more pressure to the sharpshooter but tried his best with his left hand.

Just as Cesaro realized Reigns would get a rope break, he transitioned into a Crossface. Once again, Reigns battled through the pain and got out of the hold.

In the ultimate moments of the match, Roman Reigns got Cesaro locked into the Guillotine Choke, a move that has taken out many Superstars in recent months, including Drew McIntyre and Daniel Bryan. Cesaro tried his best to get out of the guillotine. In fact, he did get out of it briefly, but again, Roman locked it in.
