Vince McMahon is not only considered a great business leader, but a creative genius as well. He has demonstrated that with the production of WWE shows that showcase intriguing characters, segments, and in-ring bouts. The Chairman himself takes a deep interest in the presentation angles of every WWE superstar he sees as a prospect.

But would it come to you as a surprise to know that a certain WWE superstar had to say yes to something because Vince liked it? The answer is debatable since many stars have been able to voice their opinion in front of the Genetic Jackhammer. However, a former champion had his entrance music locked in thanks to an effort by McMahon himself.

Vince McMahon’s awkward dance helped a Superstar finalize his theme song

The current WWE Executive chairman is known to go beyond the lengths in the development of many WWE superstars during their initial stages. While only a select few get the expertise of Vince McMahon, a rare list of people also get an extra effort from the man who created a global juggernaut like WWE.

One of those people is the current WWE superstar MVP. MVP was billed as a vibrant and cool personality during his first run in 2006. However, he disclosed recently that he did not like his initial theme song, “I’m comin” by Silkk the Shocker.

He recalled the time McMahon called him over and played the music for him while doing an awkward dance to perhaps demonstrate the vibe of the song. MVP spoke about this during an interview with Fightful.

MVP explained, “As I’ve said many times, Silkk the Shocker theme, I didn’t like it at first. I grew to like it in time. I was in the arena one afternoon and Vince called me over, had them play it. ‘This is gonna be your music.’ I remember when they were playing it, Vince was doing his awkward dance to it.

He continued: “I was like, ‘Vince, if you like it, I love it.’ At the time I was doing the Jim Jones balling, I’m a big fan of New York hip hop, I wanted something a little more boom-bap. It’s a great song. It became identified with me. I didn’t really have any say in it at all. It was just, ‘Here’s your music,’ ‘Oh, okay. Cool.’”

Looking at the effort Vince McMahon put for him and maybe honoring his position as his superior, MVP decided to pretend to like it and run with the song.

MVP continued to use his theme song to this day

As he mentioned, MVP’s music became synonymous with him during his first run in WWE which ended in 2010. The Ballin’ superstar made his return to WWE as a surprise entrant in the 2020 Royal Rumble match. This marked the beginning of his second and arguably more successful run in the company as an occasional wrestler and manager.

Moreover, MVP continued to use the same entrance music upon his arrival in 2020. However, he would drop the use of the entrance theme song during his time as a part of ‘The Hurt Business’ faction. He is currently serving as the manager of the Nigerian Giant Omos.
