

Everyone knows who The Undertaker is and his persona alone makes him intimidating to a lot of younger wrestlers. Catching up to that ray of glory and cementing himself in the minds of the audience and management alike are things he accomplished well. Also, The Deadman is a big inspiration for many wrestlers and some have even tried to bring back his niche of wrestling.

Whether that be the slow wrestling and mysterious character of Bray Wyatt as the Fiend. Or Aleister Black’s House of Black in AEW trying to recreate Brothers of Destruction. Try as they may, none have been able to capitalize on the hole in the hearts of fans left by him.

But away from all his championships and matches, deep down The Undertaker is just Mark Calaway. A simple man who grabbed opportunities and made the most out of them. But there was a moment when even the Undertaker felt that his star must be fading. A sense of self-doubt in his three decades’ worth of fanfare and work in front of the younger wrestlers.
Sami Zayn reveals a hilarious story about The Undertaker coming to NXT
On the recent episode of the Broken Skull Sessions, Sami Zayn revealed The Undertaker praising his promo with Neville, now known as PAC from AEW. He said, “So, he’s [Kevin Owens] watching this and sort of like the NXT gorilla. And he’s watching the promo, and he’s watching Undertaker loving it. So when I slap him [Neville] in the face, Undertaker gets all fired up and pokes his head into the gorilla and he goes, ‘Yeah! They just sold some effing tickets!’ But you know Gorilla’s kind of busy, so nobody sold for him since nobody could hear him.”

“And the way Kevin tells this story is in that moment, yes, he’s the Undertaker, the Godfather, and the toughest guy in the world. But in that one split second when he said they just sold some tickets and nobody sold for him, you could kinda see a moment of self-doubt, which was like, did they not hear me? And then he goes again and says hey, those guys just sold some effing tickets. And Gorilla’s like yeah they did,” Sami Zayn reminisced.

While that is one of the few moments we have heard of The Undertaker being ignored. But the ‘Gorilla’ and Kevin Owens didn’t repeat their mistake again, and it turned out to be a funny story in the end.
