Anoa’i is a popular Samoan family that has been serving the wrestling industry for more than six decades. The family tree includes some of the greatest wrestlers of all time. It all started when Peter Maivia, grandfather of The Rock made his debut in 1962, from then, the Anoa’i’s are ruling this world. Roman Reigns, Solo Sikoa, and The Usos are the current active members of the family. They are currently signed with WWE.

Several wrestlers feel honored wherever they get a chance to be inside the same ring as any member of this family. However, there is a wrestling legend who has shared the ring with the three generations of The Rock’s family. But, very few people knew about it. 

But fortunately, the drape got pulled off by a small Twitter thread. And the wrestler is none other than Terry Funk.

A simple query released the hidden fact

It all started with a simple question on Twitter. A user tagged Dave Meltzer, a sports historian, and American journalist, and asked if there is any wrestler who has fought against Peter Maivia, Rocky Johnson, and The Rock. He even guessed that it could be ‘The Natureboy’ Ric Flair.

Meltzer further quoted this tweet saying that it’s an interesting question. He mentioned that Ric Flair has wrestled The Rock and his father Rocky, but when it comes to The Rock’s grandfather, he can’t recall any fight.

As soon as the wrestling geeks saw this tweet, they answered the query. The 78-year-old wrestling legend, Terry Funk, has shared the ring with all three of them. 

Everyone was shocked knowing about this hidden fact. Even Meltzer himself relied on the fandom to answer his quesiton. 

The time when Terry Funk shared the ring with The Rock

Terry Funk, the American professional wrestler has served the wrestling world for more than fifty years. And the legendary wrestler turned out to be the one who wrestled with three generations of The Rock’s family.

Terry wrestled against Peter Maivia and Rocky Johnson during the 1970s, while he was an NWA champion. However, he didn’t go one on one with Dwayne Johnson, but in 1997, Terry was part of an 8-man tag team dark match at Raw. There he teamed up with Steve Austin, Cactus Jack, and The Undertaker to face the ‘Nation of Domination’, a faction that included D-Lo Brown, Kama Mustafa, Faarooq, and The Rock.
