Lacey Evans has undergone many character changes ever since her return in April 2022. Recently, she had another gimmick change. This time she chose a gimmick that resembled WWE Hall of Famer Sgt. Slaughter. She returned to TV on last week’s Friday Night SmackDown after a brief hiatus.

On Friday, the WWE Universe saw her in a losing effort to Zelina Vega in a Women’s Money in the Bank qualifying match. She came to the ring wearing a military uniform and a broad-brimmed hat, which is Sgt. Slaughter’s iconic look.

Fans lambasted her for stealing the 74-year-old legend’s looks. Also, Slaughter’s daughter trashed online her for doing so. However, she came back with a savage reply of her own.

Lacey Evans isn’t afraid to speak her mind

After seeing Evans use her father’s gimmick, Slaughter’s daughter went to her Twitter account to criticize the former US Military Sergeant. She clearly mentioned that she doesn’t approve of her stealing her father’s gimmick. She used some harsh words to instate that copying Slaughter’s gimmick won’t make her a legend like him and even called her a poser.

Evans replied to this tweet in a classic manner. In her reply, she wrote she is a US Marine and Slaughter’s big fan. She also challenged Slaughter’s daughter to confront her if she has the courage to do so. Clearly, the 33-year-old star is not the one to shy away from a fight, be it inside the ring or on social media.

On numerous occasions,  the former US Military Sergeant has proved herself as a true heel by displaying the related characteristics of the persona.

Evans is true to her on-screen heel gimmick

In her quest to generate a lot of heat for her character, Evans has many times berated fans, just like how a true heel does. For instance, once a fan asked for her advice to enroll in the Navy. She has served in the Marines, so asking her advice in the related field seemed appropriate to the fan.

However, Evans, maintaining her villainous gimmick, humiliated the person by stating that he won’t make it. Thus, he should try to get hired by McDonald’s instead. It is pretty evident that she is very serious about her on-screen heel gimmick. One has rarely seen her ever break her character.
