Pro-wrestling is no stranger to routine appearances from other combat-sport athletes. In a pleasantly surprising piece of news, ONE FC’s popular heavyweight champion Arjan Bhullar might soon make the switch to sports entertainment.

In a brief promo after his historic victory, Arjan Bhullar claimed that he had reached the peak of his current field, MMA heavyweight fighting. Therefore, he will shift his focus to wrestling. Even though he hasn’t revealed which company he will join, he namedropped industry big-wigs WWE and AEW.

Needless to say, it’s a big cue for both companies to approach the behemoth. WWE is a giant in the industry, but AEW offers more freedom and creative powers to its wrestlers.

Hence, the heavyweight champion will need to make an informed decision about which company will suit his expectations of the industry.

Notably, Bhullar won the ONE Championship title against Brandon Vera at the Dangal event. He secured a dominant win over Vera and called out the two companies during the post-fight interview.

The Indo-Canadian MMA fighter already shares a connection with current WWE Superstar Jinder Mahal, who recently made a comeback to Raw with Shanky and Veer by his side.

In fact, prior to Bhullar’s fight against Vera, the Modern Day Maharaja sent a message to him with his best wishes.

Will Arjan Bhullar join WWE or AEW?

If Arjan Bhullar joins WWE, he will fit right in with Jinder Mahal, who is in the midst of a renewed push with a massive victory over Jeff Hardy. However, this can only happen if he joins WWE. The situation will be completely different if he joins Tony Khan’s promotion.

Bhullar used to work with the UFC before he transitioned to ONE Championship. He made his debut in 2019, and now, he holds the championship title. Now, his transition to pro-wrestling depends on his contract.

If his contract allows him to appear in WWE or AEW while he’s the champion, he can avail of that option. Otherwise, he will need to drop the title first and then come to wrestling.

If he chooses to make a special appearance, he could go to AEW since ONE has a working relationship with TNT.

Finally, if he wants to join either of the companies with a full employment contract, there is a high possibility he won’t be able to do that while he’s the ONE Championship titleholder.
