Thunder Rosa is a hot favourite in the professional wrestling community. Reportedly, both WWE and AEW are trying to get her to sign with them. Acclaimed professional wrestling journalist, Dave Meltzer, was the first to report on this rumor.

It so happened that Serena Deeb took over the NWA World Women’s Title from Rosa at the UWN Primetime Live event. Since then, rumors started going around that the title change was intentional. Following this, both the wrestling companies tried to get her onboard.

Meltzer had reasons to make this prediction. After losing her title, Rosa took to Twitter to post a video asking everyone about their thoughts on her future. Post that, she revealed the names of all three companies, written on her hip with question marks.

However, another rumour is that losing the NWA Women’s World Title does not mean that Thunder Rosa will quit the contract with NWA. Moreover, she has made no official announcement dictating her interest in changing companies.

Serena Deeb continues to be under contract with AEW. Earlier this year, WWE released her from the job at the WWE Performance Center. Hence, the NWA Title will continue to be represented on AEW TV.

Billy Corgan makes an announcement about Thunder Rosa

Interestingly, NWA President Billy Corgan shut down all rumors surrounding Thunder Rosa’s exit from the promotion. He lashed out at the reports, stating that the press do not bother contacting the company she is working with but someone who does not bother checking facts. This was clearly a shot taken towards Dave Meltzer.

“No [she’s not leaving NWA]. You have to love press and media reports that don’t contact the company she is under contract to but instead listen to someone who has my email address but doesn’t write and ask. She’s under contract thru [through] 2021 and there’s a reason for that [it’s called excellence and faith) @nwa.”

We don’t usually see AEW and WWE going after a pro-wrestler while they are still under contract with another promotion. Either there was a miscommunication or Rosa herself did not know if she is still under contract with NWA.

The last option is that this was a publicity stunt before Rosa reveals that she is not leaving NWA.
