The WWE intercontinental champion Gunther is currently among the fastest-growing WWE superstars. He made his debut on the main roster last year and has already shared the ring with several phenomenal superstars. 

At the Royal Rumble 2023, Gunther was the last superstar to be eliminated. He stayed inside the ring for 71 minutes and 25, before being eliminated by the winner Cody Rhodes

Several other WWE superstars are praising his in-ring performances. Not only this, but wrestlers from other professional wrestling companies are also coming forward and sharing their views on the intercontinental champion. Recently, an AEW star has expressed his wish of having a match with Gunther.

AEW star wants to share the ring with WWE intercontinental champion

In the 7th episode of his podcast ‘FTR with Dax Harwood’, the AEW star Dax Harwood discussed several things. During the podcast, a segment came up where he was asked about the top five professional wrestlers he wants to compete with. 

And Dax named Gunther first. He said that although the choice might change near future, for now, he wants to share the ring with Gunther. The AEW star disclosed that he has been watching Gunther for quite a while now and he thinks that they could do some good business together.

While expressing his wish, Dax Harwood said, “I would say probably GUNTHER maybe No. 1. I’ve watched a lot of his stuff this year, and I missed out on a lot of the independent stuff he did overseas a while back because I was just traveling so much. But I’ve watched a lot of his stuff, and I think he and I could do some good business.”

He further mentioned that both he and Gunther are hard hitters and enjoy the craft of in-ring storytelling. 

“I think that we both know who we are you know and I don’t think we’re going to step outside that realm of who Gunther is and who Dax is…..um and you know he’s a hard hitter and….. uh…. I… you know enjoy hitting hard as well.”

Gunther and his WWE career till now 

In January 2019, Gunther made his WWE debut and started working under the NXT UK brand. There, he held the record of the longest-reigning NXT UK champion. In 2022, Gunther made his debut in SmackDown on the main roster.

Until now, he has already shared the ring with several amazing WWE superstars. Gunther has competed against Shinsuke Nakamura, Sheamus, Rey Mysterio, and Braun Strowman.
