Former World Heavyweight Champion, Christian, returned to the WWE at the 2021 Royal Rumble. Similar to his best friend’s return in the previous year’s edition, it became big news. Christian was one of the best wrestlers in WWE, but his career did not have the trajectory of an Edge or Chris Jericho. Despite that, he inspired some modern wrestling maestros.

AEW’s Cash Wheeler confessed that he is a massive fan of Christian. His Twitter featured a string of tweets that explained his fascination with the Canadian superstar.

FTR has a very different wrestling style than Edge and Christian, but it would be bonkers to think the legendary team didn’t inspire Cash.

Explaining his fascination of ‘Captain Charisma’ to this gentleman, Cash cited a plethora of attributes. These attributes might just create the best wrestler in the world, although Christian isn’t far away from that claim. Despite WWE not pushing him to the top, he performed excellently on every brand, every PPV and every match.

The former Dash Wilder also credited Christian for his versatility. During his lengthy career, the former World Champion took part in almost every match type.

He was part of the iconic TLC match at WrestleMania 17; he battled inside the Elimination Chamber, he’s fought inside steel cages and even inside TNA’s lockdown cage.

Last but not the least, the goofy sketches with Edge were brilliant. It brought a smile to so many faces, and the five-second poses that reeked of awesomeness were the epitome of slapstick humor.

Will Captain Charisma have a final WWE run?

The nostalgia run concept works and works brilliantly. From Kurt Angle, to Edge, to the Hardy Boyz, the nostalgia run has been tremendously successful for WWE, the Superstars involved and, of course, the WWE Universe.

Christian last wrestled for WWE in May 2014, considering that his match against Randy Orton in 2020 was a joke, with Orton kicking his head off in no time to win.

A final run in 2021 would be incredible for Christian, especially if WWE pairs him with his old tag team partner.

Similar to how the Shield got a final PPV dedicated to them, Edge and Christian might receive a show that would give them a proper send-off. A win against a team like Retribution or the Hurt Business, or even the New Day, would be tremendous for the legendary figures. If not, another World Championship run wouldn’t really bother the WWE Universe.
