AEW Superstar Reveals The Undertaker Advised Him to Wrestle a Young Daniel Bryan in WWE

Chris Jericho has been around for almost three decades in the pro-wrestling business and has almost wrestled every big name in this industry from the United States to Japan.

Working most of his career in WWE, Jericho wrestled the legends and up-and-coming wrestlers over there. However, Jericho was not sure about why he should wrestle with an NXT rookie – Daniel Bryan.

Back in 2010, Daniel Bryan was new in WWE, where he was working with the newly found NXT brand, and in order to give him a push, WWE booked him against former World Heavyweight Champion – Chris Jericho.

Jericho was skeptical because he thought, why would a World Champion wrestle a newcomer. Then The Undertaker intervened, talked some sense into him and made the match possible.

Speaking with Kenny McIntosh of Inside The Ropes, the inaugural AEW Champion, Chris Jericho talks about the time ‘The Deadman’ convinced him to go fight Bryan and put on a good show.

Undertaker said that Jericho should head out there because he is the champion and he should show everyone why is he World Heavyweight Champion.

He said, “Yeah, I mean, I didn’t want to have that match. I just thought, ‘Why is the WWE Champion having a match against some guy that’s just coming in for NXT?’ I remember it was Undertaker that was like, ‘Go out there and show them why you’re the champion.’ And I think it was a very short match.”

Jericho added, “It was only six minutes. I remember Bryan hit that tope and he kind of came out so fast, I didn’t expect it. And he overshot and hit the desk and had had we had more time, we could have built the whole match just around that and changed it all on the fly, but we really didn’t have the time to do that.”

The two wrestling legends met multiple times inside the WWE ring and shared the ring together over there. Now, with all the rumors flying around, Bryan joining AEW is sure keeping the fans on the edge of their seats.
