While money is everything in today’s world, even being wealthy can’t save a person from an illness. When it hits us, everyone needs a hand to hold in the shape of our friends and family. So, it was a heartwarming gesture from Ric Flair for going to visit a long-time friend who is struggling in fighting his rare illness.
Being in the hospital himself a few times already, Flair knows how important these visits are and he made sure to memorialize his visit by posting it on Twitter. But could this be a move after he received harsh criticism from fans for his Hall of Fame speech?

Ric visits his long-time friend and former NFL and WWE star in a hospital
Yesterday, Ric Flair shared an update on his long-time friend, Steve ‘Mongo’ McMichael. McMichael has been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis which makes the body lose motor neurons.
This is why, at the moment, McMichael is unable to move his arms or legs at all. But despite that, Flair tweeted, “My friend Mongo is stronger than anyone we know!” along with his photo of Flair, McMichael, and his sister.
In case you're wondering what Ric Flair deleted here it is. He really is that full of himself.

But after a little while, Flair took down his post as many wrestlers have faced criticism for posting McMichael’s photo in the past. But his sentiment still is alive as we all hope that McMichael will recover in the future. This post comes right after the criticism that Flair received for his speech at the Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
But this didn’t feel like a generous act to gain public sympathy. Flair and McMichael have been long-time friends, and they even had a program on WCW in the ’90s.

Back in 1996, after his NFL career was behind him, McMichael arrived at WWE and made his debut in wrestling. But it would be his feud with Ric Flair that would become his first wrestling match. When Flair flirted with McMichael’s wife, Debra, standing at the ringside, he got furious and took it upon himself to beat up Flair.

This led to a tag team match at that year’s The Great American Bash. While nothing outstanding, it wasn’t the last time the former NFL star would step into a wrestling ring for singles action later. But his wrestling career came to a close in 1999.
While quitting wrestling and football was a lot, McMichael continued to work in other endeavors but everything stopped in 2021 when he was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
